About Companion Animal Rehab

Hello, my name is Erica Forrester and I am the founder of Companion Animal Rehab.
My journey began with a simple dream: to combine my love for animals with my passion for staying active. After earning my Bachelor’s degree at Radford University, I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Emory & Henry. My path changed when my mother’s dog underwent hip surgery. When physical therapy was recommended for her, I was fascinated—I didn’t even know this field existed for pets! This spark led me to research specialized certifications while finishing my doctoral studies. Directly after becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy for humans, I began the rigorous process of becoming a Certified Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapist. Life kept me busy with a full-time job, a wedding, a move, and a new baby, but I remained dedicated to my goal. Today, that dream is a reality. I started this practice because our pets’ bodies age and face injuries just like ours do. They deserve the same access to recovery and care to live their happiest, most comfortable lives.
